The Conference on Microfinance and Enterprise Development (CMED) brings together academics, practitioners and policymakers from within and outside Nigeria to examine the current state of microfinance and enterprise development, with a view to maximising its benefits for the African continent. It offers keynote speech, paper presentations, and discussions on empirical studies.
CMED showcases one of LAPO Institute’s corporate social responsibilities (CSR), where Thesis Support Grants is given to deserving masters and doctoral students from different Nigerian Universities.
Brief about the 2018 Conference
Theme: “Entrepreneurship, Financial Inclusion and Economic Development”
The Conference is scheduled to hold 7th-8th August, 2018 in Benin City, Nigeria. The event will primarily focus on harnessing indigenous technology in value-chain development as a way to boost domestic production, and reduce import dependency in Nigeria.
It will feature the presentation of five (5) commissioned papers, and a panel discussion on:
- Local Technology and Innovation
- Agricultural Value-Chain Development
- Indigenous Technology and Industrial Development
- Financing for Indigenous Technology and Value Chain Development
- Governance and Sustainability
